Anthropogenic impacts on the diversity and distribution of marine sponges
Singgih Afifa Putra is based at the Hasanuddin University in Makassar, Indonesia. He completed a Master in Marine and Coastal Resource Management at Bogor Agricultural University (IPB), Indonesia.
His research is focused on the ecology and taxonomy of shallow-water marine sponges. He will conduct a sponge survey in the intertidal zone in several islands of the Spermonde Archipelago to investigate sponge distribution and diversity across various reefs and gradients. His research will also study micro- and macro-morphological characters of marine sponges, analyse abiotic factors (e.g., light intensity, pH), seagrass and coral reef health assessment, and assess how anthropogenic impact influence the sponge community
