Earth System modelling to assess changes in carbonate production in the late Pliocene
Xin Ren, based at the University of Bristol in the UK, completed a Bachelor degree at China University of Geosciences (Wuhan) and a Master in Quaternary Geology at the Institute of Earth Environment, Chinese Academy of Sciences in China.
Her research is focused on the climate dynamics on various timescales by model simulations. She will carry out simulations to investigate climatic and oceanic changes through the late Neogene in the region of the Coral Triangle, and drive a carbonate-production model to explore the evolving climatic control on reef development itself.
