Willem Renema, Project Coordinator of 4D-REEF, has been appointed professor by special appointment of Marine Palaeobiodiversity at the Faculty of Science of the University of Amsterdam (UvA). His Chair is hosted within the Department of Ecosystem & Landscape Dynamics. Willem is combining the professorship with his position as research leader of Marine Biodiversity at Naturalis.
This appointment strengthens the collaboration between Naturalis and UvA’s Institute for Biodiversity and Ecosystem Dynamics (IBED) in the field of palaeoecological research. Professor Renema is the promotor of five of the 4D-REEF Early Stage Researchers who are all hosted by UvA and jointly supervised by Naturalis and UvA staff.
